At Colyton we hope that 体育课 (PE) will help to contribute to the overall education of the students, by helping them to lead full and valuable lives through engaging in purposeful physical activity.

Through 体育课 it is our aim to:

  • Develop physical competence and help to promote physical development
  • 教学生, 通过经验, to value the benefits of participation in physical activity at school and to educate for leisure activities outside of school
  • Develop an appreciation of skilful and creative performances across the wide range of activities offered
  • Help to establish self-esteem through the development of physical confidence and help students to cope with success and failure in competitive and co-operative activities
  • Increase the development of social awareness and values through interaction with others
  • Improve the health and well-being of the individual

Extra-curricular clubs are run in most sports, providing opportunities for further enjoyment and enabling
skills to be developed at a higher level for all, as well as driving our more able and talented students. A
variety of teams compete against other schools, playing a high standard of sport with pleasing success.

Not all students develop at the same speed but, through a broad curriculum, students are able to develop at their own pace and achieve success. Realistic goals are set by the staff, and students themselves, so that individuals can feel a sense of progress, 成就, satisfaction and enjoyment. School clubs are on offer to everyone and they run to compliment the curriculum being taught each term. Students also have the opportunity to represent their House, the School, the Area and the County. Some of our students have also gained territorial and national honours.

The school has a good reputation for sporting success in both local and national competitions and, 由于它的大小, a large proportion of students represent the school either as an individual or as a member of a team.
